A parched wasteland devoid of the living Off the side of the road shallow descending One side filled with dirt that the other leaves And still in between the road weaves Once a mountain beautiful and pure And the twisting turning landscape mature Has now been raped and razed What remains is blazed Above the horizon the clouds set aflame Memories of what tore down the dame As the sad settling sun retires to the west On another day of destruction she sets Passing through eyes wide ajar Driving past in his old car That had once driven with peace and ease Now he stares in terror For miles this wasteland spreads And not so many turned their heads Tis for development, the better good What good is there in a deadwood? Sparse the traffic none to need it An extra lane with none to feed it Lay to waste the natural scape And how they got away with rape
